Program:

10:00 – 11:00 Mychelle Pride: Towards using Artificial Intelligence for equitable, inclusive and personalised education

Over the last three years, higher education institutions have explored pedagogical, ethical and responsible use of Artificial Intelligence in learning, teaching and assessment. Responses cover the entire spectrum from prohibiting the use of Artificial Intelligence to requiring the use of Artificial Intelligence. Too often, the conversation has focussed on students cheating. How do we shift the conversation from ‘AI for cheating’ to ‘AI for learning’? What are the opportunities for engaging with Generative AI to create inclusive learning environments?

This presentation will explore how higher education learning and teaching has embraced and is embracing Artificial Intelligence. With a focus on pedagogy, we will cover:

  • AI in Higher Education over the last three years
  • How students and staff are using and can use AI for learning, teaching and assessment
  • What it means for inclusive learning in practice
  • Looking to the future, without a crystal ball

11:00 – 12:00 Kate Lister: Inclusive learning experiences in higher education

Despite clear commitment to diversity and inclusion, many higher education institutions continue to struggle to create learning environments in which all students experience genuine inclusion, wellbeing, and a sense of belonging. Persistent inequities, structural barriers, and exclusionary practices mean that students from diverse and intersecting backgrounds often face disproportionate challenges that affect their engagement, attainment, and overall university experience. This presentation will explore how higher education can cultivate inclusive learning experiences that promote wellbeing, belonging, and success for all students.

We will discuss:

  • Inclusion and intersectionality in higher education
  • Barriers to wellbeing and belonging
  • Inclusive practice, positive pedagogy, and community building
  • Partnership and collaboration with diverse students

12:00 – 12:30 neformální diskuse a konzultace s přednášejícími

Akce je bezplatná, realizovaná v rámci projektu PODPORA EXPERTNÍ KAPACITY PRO ROZVOJ VÝUKY NA VYSOKÝCH ŠKOLÁCH.
