PhD. María Graciela Badilla Quintana

PhD. María Graciela Badilla Quintana is an Assistant Professor at the Universidad Católica de la Santísima Concepción, Chile. She is Director of the Doctorate in Education program and Editor in Chief of the Journal of Studies and Experiences in Education, REXE, member of the Center for Research in Education and Development, CIEDE-UCSC, as well as a member of the Unit of Educational Computing and Knowledge Management at the Faculty of Education. Her research focuses on the Integration of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in educational innovation processes and includes working with immersive virtual worlds in higher education and schools; as well as the use of educational video games to improve teaching and learning. Between 2016 and 2018 she is working as a Visiting Resear Professor at the Laboratory for Embodied Cognition and at the Embodied Games Lab, both at the Arizona State University, United States; thanks to the Postdoctoral Scholarship Abroad program, granted by Becas Chile, CONICYT. Dr Badilla has been participate in numerous projects, the most recents are: EdiCOM, Educators in Coworking Model, oriented to design and validate a new model to structure and relate the teaching-learning processes between the University and the School; TYMMI, Technology and Pedagogical Models in Immersive Worlds to enhance pre-service teachers pedagogical and technological skills (http://www.tymmi.cl/cms), and EMBRACE, English Language Learners with Technology, oriented to improve reading comprehension skill  in primary students (http://resourcecenters2015.videohall.com/presentations/565) She also has published her research findings in prestigious indexed journals and in congress all over the world (orcid.org/0000-0002-1317-9228, Researcher ID: B-3142-2017, https://www.linkedin.com/pub/maría-graciela-badilla/23/978/820)
